BUILDING A SPACE TO GATHER AND INVITE THE LOST

The Gathering Project (2560 x 1080 px).jpg

At the heart of our church is a mission:

to lead people to life in Christ, to live by His word, and to love the lost.

In July, we announced The Gathering Project, a remodel and overhaul of the entry, lobby space, kids check-in, and restrooms of our church facility. The goal of this project was to mold our facilities to better accomplish the mission God has given us.

We have completed Phase 1 of this project. Now it is time to finish Phase 2.

Phase 1 included:

  • A welcoming gathering area to foster connection before and after services

  • A more accessible restroom layout that better serves everyone

  • A new Calvary Kid’s Check-in area that’s secure, smooth, and welcoming to families

  • A new Nursing Mom’s Room that’s comfortable and easy to access

These updates will better enable us to gather as a church family and freely invite others to join.

Phase 2 Includes:

  • New flooring for the Lobby and Sanctuary

  • Seating and furniture for gathering and connection before and after services

  • Counter and furnishings for a smooth and welcoming Kids Check-in

  • New Ceiling tiles for the Lobby

  • Blinds and Signs for safety and clear direction

Phase 2 will turn this newly functional area into a welcoming and hospitable place.

A Message About The Gathering Project

How much will this cost?

Phase 1

The estimated cost for Phase 1 was $225,000. By God’s grace and our church’s generosity, we raised $223,000! The actual cost of the project came to $204,000.

We came in under budget and have $19,000 remaining for Phase 2!

Phase 2

The estimated cost for Phase 2 is $55,000. We have $19,000 remaining from Phase 1, which means we need to raise $36,000 to complete this project.

We are inviting you to join us in this mission.

How Can I Help?

1. Pray

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Psalm 127:1

Pray for God’s guidance, His wisdom, His protection and His provision!

2. Give

Take this step of faith with us and commit to a season of giving. We are asking each family to look over their budget to see what they can commit to giving over the next 2 months.

3. serve

The Nehemiah Ministry is a new team in our church of people using their gift of craftsmanship to accomplish special projects in our church. Sign up to serve below!

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Frequently Asked Questions

  • In Acts 2 we see the early church selling possessions and donating the proceeds, this can be a great way to give depending on your situation. You can sell things around the house, or things like vehicles or other assets and donate the proceeds.

We can also receive Stock and Crypto donations.

  • The primary construction will be done by our contractor and their team. If you are skilled in building and handiwork, there will be smaller projects and builds we will do, this includes decor pieces, counters etc. that we would love help with! If you are interested in helping in this way, you can let us know by emailing us at info@cccharleston.org.

  • The expected time on the remodel is about 4 months from when we are able to begin construction.

  • Our only forever home is heaven, so while we are here on earth we will go wherever the Lord leads us! This location is where God has us at this time, so we believe we need to make the best use of the facility He has provided for us.

  • We will prioritize the most important aspects of this project and accomplish those first. If needed we can accomplish the work in phases as God provides the funds.

  • The total amount raised will determine how much of the church we are able to improve. If we raise more than we have asked we have additional ways to improve our current facility, including mission-focused improvements to the Sanctuary and Calvary Kids.
